As part of the College commitment to widening participation and providing learning opportunities for everyone, community centres provide local, flexible learning opportunities for a variety of learners with differing lifestyles. The flexible and relaxing surroundings in the learning centres attempt to provide an environment that learners, particularly the more fragile, feel more comfortable with. The use of resource based learning materials allows learners to take more time with their learning without feeling threatened or pressurised by the more confident learner.
Newton Aycliffe Community Learning Centre is based within the town centre seven miles from the main college campus.
