Catering & Hospitality NVQ Level 1 Hospitality, Food Preparation and Cookery One Year Course

Bishop Auckland College is one of the largest full time Catering Colleges in the North East. Students work to industry standards applying their skills within real working environments.      
Students gain broader experience than in most other Catering Colleges as they prepare and cook food for the Meeting Place, Mocha Cafe, The Mitre Restaurant and external clients.

Students have the opportunity to take part in industry based trips such as Black Sheep Brewery, Wensleydale Cheese Factory, Chocolate Factory, Catterick Garrison Field Kitchen, Supermarket Deli counter and bakery. Other events include a Ready Steady Cook style competition.

NVQ LEVEL 1 FOOD PREPARATION & COOKERY
NVQ Level 1 in Food Preparation & Cookery is our ideal introduction into the world of catering. Students will use various techniques to prepare and make dishes which could then progress onto a NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Informal interview and references.

PROGRESSION
NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or VRQ Diploma Level 1 in Professional Cookery.
