Course overview

Childcare is a growing sector with thousands of job opportunities, leading to careers that can be extremely rewarding and diverse. Opportunities include working as a nanny, pre-school leader or youth worker, as well as many other possibilities. Whilst studying the CACHE Diploma in Caring for Children Level 1, we will help develop your skills to the highest level, whichever career path you choose.

Course requirements

Minimum 3 GCSE’s at grades 2 - 1 (E - F) or equivalent, or entry level qualification. Alternative qualifications and experience will be considered.

What will I do?

Whilst studying the CACHE Diploma in Caring for Children Level 1 you will learn how to care for children from birth. As part of this course you will also take part in Functional Skills (Maths and English). There are 12 Childcare units to complete ranging from how to care for children to how children learn through play.

What will it give me?

An understanding about the needs of children and how to care for children. The confidence and ability to study at Level 1, as well as qualifications in both Maths and English if you do not already hold a GCSE at grade C or above.

What can I do when I finish?

You may want to progress to a course in Childcare at Level 2, if you pass your Level 1 Childcare course and you gain your qualifications in Functional Skills.
