Course overview

The Extended Diploma in Photography Level 3 is a two year course, which has been designed for a wide range of learners, who are interested in improving their skills and understanding of the art industry.

Course requirements

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, including a C or above in Maths and English, or a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area.

What will I do?

Learners will study the Extended Diploma in Photography Level 3 three days per week. Each learner will produce a portfolio of evidence consisting of a variety of assessed pieces of work, which could include assignments, albums, and various projects throughout the year. You will study contextual influences in Art and Design plus a variety of optional units (these will be discussed at interview depending on your entry criteria).

What will it give me?

Learners will be studying towards a Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Photography.

Materials needed

DSLR camera, an A3 / A2 art workbook. along with basic stationery items (pens, pencils, lined paper, file, etc.)

What can I do when I finish?

This qualification can help to progress learners onto Higher Education at university or the HND in Art and Design- Photography, at Bishop Auckland College, or into employment.
