Course overview

As part of the Diploma in Site Carpentry Level 3, you will gain knowledge and carry out many activities relating to Site Carpentry & Joinery and Construction.
At this advanced level you will begin to master areas such as first fix flooring and roofing, second fixing operations, setting up and using fixed and transportable machinery.
Level 3 diplomas are highly regarded within the industry.

Course requirements

Minimum 4 GCSE’s at grades 9 - 4 (A* - C) or equivalent, including a C or above in Maths and English, or a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area.

What will I do?

The new City & Guilds construction Diploma are highly regarded within the Industry. You will gain knowledge and carry out many activities on this course relating to Site Carpentry & Joinery and Construction.

You will study the following:

  • Carry out first fix flooring and roofing
  • Carry out second fixing operations
  • Carry out first fix roofing and stairs
  • Carry out second fixing double doors and mouldings
  • Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery

What will it give me?

The course allows candidates to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Site Carpentry.
It will give you the essential skills and knowledge required to work on a Building Site. It will also prepare you for further learning, such as Higher National Certificates (HNC) and Higher National Diplomas (HND).
It will also give you a Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry.

Materials needed

You will require safety steel toe cap boots, a polo shirt and jumper, which you can purchase from the College. You will also wear a high visibility vest in practical sessions, supplied for by the college.

What can I do when I finish?

On the successful completion of the course, you may want to progress to an apprenticeship at level 3 Site Carpentry or progress onto professional qualifications HNC / HND.
